Dear Resident,
Suspected drug dealers, knife carriers and people wanted for numerous other offences have been arrested by Operation Fearless officers this weekend as their work to make the Soho Road and Handsworth Triangle safer continues.
The Fearless team officially landed in the area on 13 May, to drive down crime and work with partners to make the area better everyone who lives, works and visits there. ![]()
On Friday, they arrested a man for being in possession of a kitchen knife outside a supermarket.
The 31-year-old was charged and remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham magistrates today.
They also arrested a 41-year-old man who was wanted for wounding and arrested a 27-year-old man who’d been seen in the area and who was wanted for offences including criminal damage and assault.
A lock knife and cannabis were also seized, and he was charged and due to appear in court today.
On Saturday, an off-duty member of police staff flagged down Fearless officers after spotting a drug deal. The suspect was arrested, and cannabis and cash were found, along with two BB guns at an address linked to him. The 24-year-old man has been released on bail pending further investigation.
And on Sunday, the team joined Response officers in getting to the scene of a violent disorder on Rookery Road, where seven people were arrested.
Operation Fearless has made dozens of arrests since arriving on the Soho Road and Handsworth Triangle.
They are working with partners such as the Business Improvement District and Trading Standards to tackle the crimes that cause the most harm to the community.
